Researchers, academics and project specialists undertaking work in 2022 are now able to apply for funding from the Association for Project Management (APM) Research Fund.

The APM Research Fund is part of the association's commitment to advance the art, science, theory and practice of project management. It provides funding for small-scale research projects, along with seed funding for larger research projects.

Since its creation in 2016, the fund has supported dozens of projects, on topics including sustainability, leadership and project professional wellbeing.

Applications and proposals are open to all UK-residents (including students, academics, researchers, APM volunteers and project professionals. Academics from recognised Higher Education Institutions outside the UK are also eligible to apply.

Daniel Nicholls, research manager at APM, yesterday said:

As the chartered body for our profession, we're proud to play a leading role in adding to the collective body of project knowledge. Our Research Fund consistently attracts creative, original, high quality proposals with the potential to bring new insights to the project community and I greatly look forward to seeing what this year brings.

I would urge anyone undertaking research in the field of project, programme or portfolio management to consider making a funding application. Alternatively, if you know of anyone undertaking research that's relevant to our profession, I would encourage you to share details of our Research Fund with them.

You'll find more information about APM's research fund here, including a form to contact the organisation's research team.

The closing date for 2022 submissions is 17 January 2022
