Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian is attending today's EU council of foreign ministers in Brussels.

On the subject of Ukraine, he will reaffirm France's support for that country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its wish, shared by Germany, to revive discussions in the Normandy Format.

Concerning Belarus, the minister will underscore the EU's firmness and unity in the face of the regime's unacceptable instrumentalization of migratory flows.

As for the situation in Mali, Mr. Le Drian will applaud the adoption of a legal framework making it possible to take sanctions against those who stand in the way of that country's transition, in support of the efforts by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). He will also hail the establishment of a list designating individuals and entities working for the Wagner Group.

The minister will express our concern over the Iranian nuclear issue and the importance of swiftly concluding an agreement to return the United States to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) and Iran to its commitments under that agreement.

The minister will also brief his counterparts on his participation in the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security.
