Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, hosted Ms Diana Mondino, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Argentina, for a meeting on 20 December 2023.
The Minister and her counterpart reaffirmed their desire to strengthen the bilateral relationship with Argentina, in response to regional and international crises. They reaffirmed their commitment to the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter, scorned by Russia in its aggression against Ukraine, and they agreed to maintain regular dialogue on the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and on the Middle East crisis. The Minister encouraged her Argentinian counterpart to continue the historic bilateral cooperation for the universal ratification of the international convention against enforced disappearance.
The ministers shared their views on the key global issues, particularly the climate crisis and the challenge posed by the ecological transition of our economies.
